About us
Kadarbiku farm is situated in Tuula village in Saue municipality, Harju County. We started farming here back in 1989, and the family business Kadarbiku Köögivili OÜ was established in 2004.
The company
Kadarbiku farm specialises in growing and processing vegetables. We have 250 ha of our own arable land and 700 ha of land in use, where we grow carrots, cabbage, beetroot and various summer crops.
The company employs about 70 people all year round, plus seasonal workers. We produce 10,000 tonnes of vegetables a year: 4,000 tonnes are sold fresh and 6,000 tonnes are processed into juices and vegetable mixes at the Ääsmäe production facility. We also make sauerkraut.
Kadarbiku is best known for its vegetable juices and smoothies. We produce more than a million litres of juice a year from vegetables we grow ourselves and from imported fruit mixtures. All juices are made from freshly pressed fruit and vegetables and are only gently pasteurised to preserve the vitamins. No preservatives, colourings or sweeteners are added to Kadarbiku juices.
History
Kadarbiku farm began in 1989, when Ants Pak established a farm under his own name, Ants Pak’s Kadarbiku farm, which concentrated on growing vegetables. We started with a few hectares and expanded gradually. Besides vegetables, Kadarbiku has also tried its hand in other fields, such as broiler breeding.
Over time we have bought or leased all the land needed for growing. Today the company has 250 hectares of its own land and about 700 ha of leased land.
In the early years everything was concentrated around the farm in Tuula village. Today the whole production and warehouse complex is in Ääsmäe. We have been involved in many different projects: we have produced salads for all the McDonald’s restaurants in the Baltic states and started producing packaged vegetable mixes (soup mixes, stews).
- 1989 Ants Pak establishes Kadarbiku farm, which concentrates on growing vegetables.
- 2004 Kadarbiku Köögivili OÜ is established and we launch our first juice, carrot juice. At first it was made completely by hand: bottled, labelled, capped and off to the shop! Carrot juice quickly became a best seller, followed by cabbage, beetroot and apple juices and various mixed juices.
- 2005 We launch a new type of juice drink, the smoothie. The first one was a mango smoothie. Some have disappeared over time, but every year a new one is added.
